That used figure is the cheapest entry point into the entire iPhone 17 range, roughly 44% of what a new iPhone 17 Pro Max costs. The base model carries 8GB of RAM rather than the 12GB in the Pro models, which is the main thing you are giving up.

iPhone 17 price in Nigeria by storage
The 256GB costs ₦1,400,000 new and ₦1,010,000 used. The 512GB adds ₦400,000 new, which is the worst-value step in the entire range and is explained below.

The 512GB is scarce on the used market, only 18 of the 187 iPhone 17 listings we reviewed were 512GB, and just three of those were used. Not enough to publish a range honestly.

A new iPhone 17 512GB typically costs ₦1,800,000. A new iPhone 17 Pro 256GB starts at ₦1,800,000 and typically costs ₦1,850,000.
In other words, the extra 256GB of storage on the base model costs about the same as stepping up to the Pro, which gets you 12GB of RAM instead of 8GB, a better camera system and a higher refresh-rate display, at the lower storage tier. Unless you specifically need the space, the 512GB base model is the weakest-value configuration in the entire iPhone 17 line-up in Nigeria.
The market appears to agree: 169 of the 187 listings we reviewed were 256GB.
What dealers pay, and what that means for you
Of the used iPhone 17 listings we reviewed, a substantial share were tagged as bulk or wholesale offers, clustered around ₦840,000 for 256GB units described as 100% battery health.
Those are not prices you can walk in and pay, they are minimum-quantity dealer prices, and we exclude them from the figures at the top of this page. But they are useful context: the gap between roughly ₦840,000 wholesale and a typical ₦1,010,000 retail is the dealer’s margin. If you are buying a clean 256GB unit and being quoted ₦1,200,000, you now know there is room to negotiate.
