What to check before you pay
- 01Battery health. Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging. Under 85% means a replacement is due, and that is real money in Lagos or Abuja. Make the seller open this screen in front of you.
- 02Activation lock. Settings, then General, then Transfer or Reset iPhone. If the seller’s Apple ID is still signed in, walk away. An iCloud-locked phone is a paperweight and no technician can fix it.
