Only one storage tier has enough live supply in Nigeria to price honestly, and it is the one below. Anything a seller quotes you outside this capacity is a negotiation, not a market price.

At the 128GB tier the used discount is 14%, which is unusually thin, and it is the best argument for buying new here. Buying new costs you ₦40,000 more and buys you warranty, an untouched battery and no ownership history.

How many Pixel 6 units are actually for sale in Nigeria

We counted 13 active listings for the Pixel 6: 5 advertised as brand new and 8 as used. That puts the used share at 62%.

New stock still exists but it is thin, and most of what you will be shown in Computer Village, Ikeja or Banex is used. With 8 used units competing for your money, a seller who will not move on price is easy to walk away from.

Pixel 6 review: what you are actually buying in 2026

The Pixel 6 shipped in 2021 with a Google Tensor chip, 8GB of RAM and a 6.4 inch display. At 5 years old the question is not whether it was good, it is whether it still gets security updates and whether the battery has anything left.

What to check before you pay

   Carrier lock, before you look at anything else. Most Pixels in Nigeria are ex-United States carrier stock. Put your own MTN, Glo, Airtel or 9mobile SIM in before you pay and confirm you get calls and mobile data, not just a signal bar. Settings, then About phone, then SIM status. A Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or Google Fi locked Pixel cannot be unlocked from Nigeria at any price, and sellers do not always know their unit is locked.

   Check the IMEI is not blacklisted. Dial *#06#. A large share of imported Pixels were reported lost, stolen or left on an unpaid United States instalment plan, which blacklists the IMEI. A blacklisted handset can work briefly and then stop. Run the number through an IMEI status checker before money moves.

   Look up the exact end-of-support date. Google publishes a guaranteed update date for every Pixel. Pixel 6 through 8 get five years of updates from launch, Pixel 8 onward get seven. This is the one Android brand where you can know exactly how long the phone stays supported, so use it: an out-of-support Pixel should be priced as a camera, not as a phone.

   Battery, with the Pixel caveat. Settings, then Battery. Google shipped software on some older Pixels that deliberately reduces maximum capacity and charging speed, so a battery can be healthy and still underperform. Check what the phone actually does across an afternoon rather than trusting a percentage.

   Google account lock. Settings, then Accounts. If the seller’s Google account is still signed in, the handset locks itself at the next factory reset and nobody can recover it. Make them remove the account in front of you, then reset the phone yourself before money changes hands.

   Model number tells you the market. Settings, then About phone, then Model. Pixel model codes differ by region and the United States variants are the ones most likely to be carrier-tied. Match the code against Google’s own listing for that generation before you agree a price.
