Infinix Zero 8i Specifications

Checkout of of its special features:

Display

The Infinix Zero 8i’s display is one of the best IPS LCD panels from the company. It’s a gigantic 6.85 inches LCD with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 480 nits peak brightness. In the world of high-end smartphones, none of those specs are groundbreaking, but we’re talking Infinixes here, so you have to cut them some slack.

Also, the display has a resolution of 1080×2460 that qualifies as high-res and matches the highest resolution we’ve ever seen on any Infinix smartphone.

Processor

The Infinix Zero 8i uses the Helio G90T chip, a processor that’s almost on par with the performance of the insanely popular G96. However, the G90T is an old chip from 2019, limiting its ability artificially, especially when you compare it to the newer G96. Like the G96, the G90T has eight cores, two running at 2.05 GHz and the rest at 2.0 GHz.

Overall, you should expect similar gaming and video processing performance on the G90T as on the G96, implying that the Infinix Zero 8i runs most Android games almost flawlessly at medium settings.

Battery

The Infinix Zero 8i is one of those few times when Infinix randomly decides to use a 4500 mAh cell instead of 5000 mAh for no apparent reason. Thankfully, the 4500 is massive by today’s standards, giving the Infinix similar battery performance to some of the best devices on the market today, including phones from Apple and Samsung.

If you don’t spend your entire day playing Genshin Impact and Call of Duty Mobile non-stop, you shouldn’t need to buy a power bank or carry a charger wherever you go.

Cameras

It seems like the decision makers at Infinix love having so many cameras behind their devices that they add even useless ones, and that behavior manifested on the Infinix Zero 8i. While the phone has four rear cameras, only the 48 MP primary shooter and the 8 MP ultrawide are useful. You can also make a case for the usefulness of the depth sensor, but we don’t have enough information about the third camera to understand if it’s necessary or just a gimmick.

On the bright side, the device can shoot 4k at 30fps on the rear and selfie cameras. It’s also worth mentioning that it has two selfie cameras; a 16 MP primary sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide shooter for group selfies.

RAM/Internal Storage

Like most other high-end offerings from Infinix, the Infinix Zero 8i doesn’t come in different RAM and storage variants; it’s a single model with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Unless you use your phone as a file server for movies and other heavy files, 128 GB should be sufficient. If it isn’t, feel free to expand the storage using a MicroSD card through the included SD card slot.

Water-Resistance

It would be dishonest to pretend like smartphones from Infinix aren’t well-built because they are. However, it would be equally unfair to assume Infinix users don’t deserve water resistance in a phone that costs this much. The Infinix Zero 8i lacks an IP rating or water resistance, but we hope that changes.

Biometrics and Sensors

The Infinix Zero 8i has a fingerprint scanner built right into the power button, making for a seamless unlocking experience. Once you try to turn on the device with your thumb, the power button automatically scans your finger and signs you in nearly instantly. You can also use the sensor to lock apps and sign in to accounts if that’s your thing.

Apart from the fingerprint sensor, there’s an accelerometer to tell the device’s orientation, a proximity sensor to determine your closeness to the phone, and a compass.

Operating System

Infinix released the Zero 8i smartphone in 2020 with Android 10, an Android version good enough for 99% of the things you’ll be doing on an Infinix device. If you want something better, your best chance is to buy a new phone, as it doesn’t seem like Infinix is bringing updates to its Zero lineup anytime soon.
