Tecno Camon 19 Specifications
Display
Being a mid-ranger, the Tecno Camon 19 uses one of Tecno’s finest screens, a 1080 x 2460 IPS LCD panel that measures 6.8 inches across. It’s perfect for lovers of big screens, and it packs enough resolution to justify the size.
With 395 pixels per inch density, you don’t get it much better than the Camon 19 as far as displays for cheap Android smartphones are concerned. However, the IPS LCD seems outdated for 2022, as most of the industry has moved to AMOLED; but for the price, who can complain?
Processor
The Tecno Camon 19 uses the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, an eight-core processor Tecno uses on many of its premium devices. It features two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2 GHz each, while the rest run at 1.8 GHz to conserve energy.
The ‘G’ in front of the chip’s name signifies it’s a gaming processor, and the Mali G52 GPU in the phone reinforces that claim. With the CPU+GPU duo, you’ll hardly find a game on the Google Play Store that runs terribly on the Camon 19.
Battery
Like most other Tecno mid-rangers, the Tecno Camon 19 uses a 5000 mAh Lithium battery that’s non-removable. It supports 18W wired fast charging, which isn’t terrible for its price. However, you wouldn’t need that quick charging feature often, as the battery lasts very long.
The Tecno Camon 19 charges via USB Type-C, which should be obvious, as it’s the only way to supply 18W fast charging to a phone.
Cameras
The Tecno Camon 19 has a simple triple camera setup featuring a 64 MP primary camera with PDAF. There’s also a 2 MP depth sensor for portrait mode shots and a QVGA lens that serves no purpose, as far as we’re concerned. The Quad-LED flash on the back lights up night shots, and the 64 MP lens can handle up to 1080p video at 30fps.
On the front, the Camon 19 features a single 16 MP wide lens with f/2.0 aperture. Its selfies aren’t the best in any smartphone, but they don’t look terrible, especially when the phone’s new.
RAM/Internal Storage
This phone comes in two variants: 4GB and 6GB RAM models, both featuring 128GB internal storage. We recommend going for the latter if it’s within your budget, but either should work fine for most use cases.
If the internal storage size is insufficient, the phone has an SD card slot you can use to expand it. Users have reported expanding their storage by up to 512GB with no issues.
Operating System
The Tecno Camon 19 comes with Android 12, the latest version of Android available when it was released in 2022. Unlike most budget Tecno phones, it uses the full operating system, not the Go Edition, as the latter is a leaner version for low-power devices. We don’t know about you, but a phone with a gaming chipset and up to 6GB of RAM doesn’t qualify as ‘low power’ in our book.
Biometric/Sensors
Since the Tecno Camon 19 is a premium phone in its own right, it uses a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a luxury Tecno reserves for its mid-range phones. The company’s elite phone lineup uses on-display sensors, while most of the brand’s budget devices feature rear-mounted sensors.
In addition, you get an accelerometer and a proximity sensor with the Tecno Camon 19, regular features common to all phones.
Water Resistance
Despite showing signs of premium-ness, the Tecno Camon 19 has no IP rating to verify if it protects against damage from water or dust. While it’s something we’ve come to expect on mid-rangers from elite brands like Samsung and Apple, it’s a luxury that has eluded Tecno users, and we can only hope it’s coming soon enough.

Tecno Camon 19 – user opinions and reviews
A 64MP triple camera setup along with a quad-LED flash is really cool. Moreover, the performance of the Mediatek SoC is also quite strong.
Nice addition to the camon series, this camon 19 has so many features to love it for.
The Mediatek Helio G85 SoC along with the features and specifications- everything’s going to work well!
The smartphone is indeed stunning with a 64MP camera and a Helio G85 SoC
The stunning design is dope 🤩
A phone more expensive than last year’s model without a high refresh rate? It’s a take-it or leave-it issue! Anyway, it’s a decent camera phone for the price 👍🏽👍🏽
Conclusion
The Camon 19 is the cheaper phone in its lineup, with the 19 Pro being its bigger brother. If you’re after an elite smartphone on a budget, the Camon 19 and 19 Pro are your options, and if the specs above match what you want in a smartphone, this phone should be an excellent buy. Otherwise, consider purchasing the ‘Pro,’ an admittedly more expensive phone that offers more for your money.
